说实话，最初喜欢这首《Time to say goodbye》完全是因为喜欢Sarah Brightman。那时在电视里偶尔看到这首曲子的视频片段，心里还觉得奇怪，为什么旁边这个男子总是闭眼睛呢。前不久才知道，这名意大利歌唱家叫Andrea Bocelli，自小弱视。

记得Celine Dion曾说过，若上帝也有歌声的话，那声音就是Andrea Bocelli，从他与Sarah Brightman(莎拉布莱曼)合唱的《Time To Say Goodbye》全球乐迷似乎找到一种映照心灵的歌声，一道照亮心灵的曙光，一份对生命的热情礼赞。生于一九五八年九月二十二日的Andrea Bocelli，来自距离意大利比塞塔不远的莱亚提柯市的小镇农庄，自幼弱视，12岁时因一场意外双目失明，六岁开始学钢琴，接着又学了横笛与萨克斯风，之后转而对歌剧的兴趣，大学念法律的Andrea Bocelli，当了一年的辩护律师，偶遇传奇男高音Franco Corelli，拜师学唱。
一九九二年，Andrea Bocelli帮意大利歌唱前辈苏克洛录试唱带，原本是要作为帕瓦洛帝演唱Miserere的demo，没想到Bocelli的歌声感动了帕瓦洛帝，Bocelli的歌声动容力就此蔓延，Bocelli进一步成为帕瓦洛帝巡回演唱的嘉宾，九三年与Sugar唱片公司签约，在连续两年夺得歌唱比赛之后，九六年十一月，与Sarah Brightman双双获邀为意大利轻重量级世界冠军拳击手亨利马斯克的告别赛中作入场演唱，把一年前由Bocelli唱红的《Con Te Partiro》改唱成《Time To Say Goodbye》。歌曲发行成单曲后，马上成为轰动全欧的冠军金曲。
九七年，Bocelli迈向国际推出专辑《Romanza》，销售冲破一千两百万张，接着九八年的专辑《Aria -The Opera Album》问鼎Billboard古典专辑榜冠军宝座，瞬间，全球乐迷接受了他的歌声祈福与拥抱，当然，与Celine Dion合唱的《The Prayer》益加普及歌迷的听觉福音，九九年的专辑Songo照样拿下古典榜冠军，Bocelli再获葛莱美奖最佳流行男歌手的提名，同一年，Bocelli与环球音乐签下五年合约，继续以歌声为这个世间默默祝祷。
