feline salami, 难道在卖猫肉!? 不是的,那是意大利语猪肉的意思。但希望商家不要用这种容易产生误会的标签

via imagethief’s post

It is, in fact, the Italian rendering of Felino salami, which is made with pork (correctly noted on the tag). But as a cat owner I interpreted it rather differently when I first saw it at the Gubei Carrefour this afternoon. It also stands out a bit amidst the other tags, which simply use Pinyin.

懂意大利语的请给看看这个链接 felino 到底是什么意思。 Will somebody give me a rough translation of what excatly felino is from the link i provided and, can I assume this “italian rendering of felino salami” as ‘felime salami’ is correct?

feline means cat and cat alike. 可能是猫科的意思。

所以,乍一看让人揪心啊!

“in the ballpark of” meaning “near the scope or range of something”

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Encountered this phrase while reading slashdot.org a little while ago. I guessed it means “roughly” and i was right :)

Wal-Mart could be selling these for less than $200 retail, although some speculate that the initial manufacturer suggested retail pricing might be in the ballpark of $299. Currently the cheapest high-definiti

Seems to me /.’ers use this phrase a lot

RIAA pronouced MAFIAA

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Did you get it? :) Could you explain it to me? :)

I guess what I’m saying is, there are many, many ways to foil the MAFIAA. You just have to implement them beforehand, and calmly cover every angle. Trying to do something after getting subpoenaed is a bad idea, because then you’re hurrying. And as you say, one tiny mistake is all it takes, and people tend to make mistakes when they hurry.

US flag

define: flag day
commemorating the adoption of the United States flag in 1777 wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

There are two recognized definitions of the term, Flag Day. The first definition is used to designate a day to fly a flag of a certain area, mostly that of nations. The second term is that a day is set aside to honour an event specifically involving a national flag (eg. creation/adoption). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_Day

Here’s some instruction on how to handle the flag properly

There has been several times law makers want to regulate how people can do withe US flag, banning certain actions like burning the flag, so far the court ruled against such demand, which I believe make sense.

rssowl is written in java, it’s an rss reader

i used it a few years back, had some email exchange with the author

then i use thunderbird exclusively becase i love the way it treats rss msg as email

Cons

rssowl is not for me because, 1, it’s very hard to increase text font 2 it can not archive all articles, older ones got deleted, i talked with the author about this he said he would implement 3 on windows platform it uses IE to render feed message, though later it could use geck-engine which is used by mozilla andfirefox

i don’t want to or need to check it out but you might be intersted

Pros

a great feature of it is it can export multiple articles as pdf and/or html, really handy when you want to read something on your pda, i used to do that a lot :)

i noticed a lot of effort has been put into the search functionality, so, it might be strong in that area.
